About Robin Rive

Once upon a time, a long time ago, a young woman with auburn locks, sat dreaming beside a sparkling stream at Oakdale Farm.

She was imagining a family of bears that would live with her in the pretty farmhouse overlooking the sea. Many happy hours she spent in the woods, dreaming by the sparkling stream, and time would pass unnoticed as hundreds of bears roamed through her head.

Dreams do come true, and her family of bears were at last born... and they multiplied and multiplied and multiplied and multiplied - in fact the Hug got so big she had to find a very large studio to make them more comfortable.

The bears were very proud when some of their friends won International awards and their fame spread far and wide.

Today the young woman with the auburn locks has matured. Still she dreams by the "stream of a thousand sunbeams" and thirty years on, hundreds of different bears still roam through her head.

Some are filled with kapok, excelsior or organically-grown wool.Always working on something new there are also lots of new 'Bear Buddies' to keep the our Hug company... Gollys, Humpty Dumptys, Bunny Rabbits and even our latest addition, an albino penguin chick.

Her husband Bryan and daughter Brigitte share her passion for the bears and all three travel the world together meeting with collectors at signings and introducing the latest members of the Robin Rive Hug.
