Josef's Brother Jakob is also (obviously) a cousin of our 1906 replica. He comes in an interesting aged white curly mohair plush. The aging gives him a kind of 'smoked' touch. Jakob also has light airbrushing details to underline his expression. As with Josef, Jacob talks with a squeaker voice when you gently press his belly. Like his brother, he's a great communicator! .

Limited Edition (White and Red Ear Tag)
All the animals and Teddy Bears at Steiff are very pleased to receive the extraordinary distinction of the white ear tag with red writing because they are produced in a limited edition. This means that only a number is available and some are available only in certain countries.

Each of these pieces carry the gold plated "Button in Ear" and bring it's new owner a certificate that ensures the authenticity and special status as a Steiff Limited Edition piece.

Steiff Mohair
Mohair - Lustrous, shiny and sleek. This natural material from the wool of the angora goat is the traditional Teddy bear material. In fact, it was used for the first Teddy bear ever created. The fiber is both beautiful and durable, which accounts for the amazing number of vintage Steiff creations that appear today in superb condition. Most teddy bears and animals in Steiff's current Classic range are made of mohair material.
