Jack Teddy bear. Jack is a veteran sea captain with years of sailing under his belt. He´s made of light brown mohair but his stylishness doesn´t stop there. Underneath a navy blue uniform Jack wears a red and white striped tank top. He also sports a captain´s hat. The first prototype of Jack was completed more than a year ago. A designer was asked to make "a different looking bear." Then, when the nautical theme was chosen for the 2012 collection, "Jack" found a place among the stars in the line as the Captain of the ship.

Limited Edition (White and Red Ear Tag)
All the animals and Teddy Bears at Steiff are very pleased to receive the extraordinary distinction of the white ear tag with red writing because they are produced in a limited edition. This means that only a number is available and some are available only in certain countries.

Each of these pieces carry the gold plated "Button in Ear" and bring it's new owner a certificate that ensures the authenticity and special status as a Steiff Limited Edition piece.

Steiff Mohair
Mohair - Lustrous, shiny and sleek. This natural material from the wool of the angora goat is the traditional Teddy bear material. In fact, it was used for the first Teddy bear ever created. The fiber is both beautiful and durable, which accounts for the amazing number of vintage Steiff creations that appear today in superb condition. Most teddy bears and animals in Steiff's current Classic range are made of mohair material.
