Ice Teddy bear. Isn´t this Teddy a "cool" color? The birth of this gorgeous bear began with an amazing mohair sample supplied by Steiff Schulte in early 2011. This swatch had a subtle vintage colored light tan backing with a pale ice white tipped long pile. It was immediately quite clear that Steiff had to do a Teddy bear with this superb fabric. So the challenge became to find the right character to pay tribute to this exceptional color. The designers based the final creation on a classic 1908 bear with a not-too-prominent cone nose. Teddy Ice is a lovely fellow not only for the colder season, but also for warmer times as well. Which time of year does he prefer? Just ask him and he´ll answer with a resounding growl.

Limited Edition (White and Red Ear Tag)
All the animals and Teddy Bears at Steiff are very pleased to receive the extraordinary distinction of the white ear tag with red writing because they are produced in a limited edition. This means that only a number is available and some are available only in certain countries.

Each of these pieces carry the gold plated "Button in Ear" and bring it's new owner a certificate that ensures the authenticity and special status as a Steiff Limited Edition piece.

Steiff Mohair
Mohair - Lustrous, shiny and sleek. This natural material from the wool of the angora goat is the traditional Teddy bear material. In fact, it was used for the first Teddy bear ever created. The fiber is both beautiful and durable, which accounts for the amazing number of vintage Steiff creations that appear today in superb condition. Most teddy bears and animals in Steiff's current Classic range are made of mohair material.
