Steiff MATTHIAS is a real stunner! a feast of Nostalgia to take you back to the golden age of teddy bears, the era when Steiff's legendary classics were first produced. Following on from last years "Henry" Teddy Bear (the first in the series), Matthias is based on the original "cone nosed" bears from the early 1900's.

Made of finest golden blond tipped mohair, fully jointed with growler, surface washable only, with gold-plated "Button in Ear", limited edition of 1,500 pieces worldwide, size 40cm.

Limited Edition (White and Red Ear Tag)
All the animals and Teddy Bears at Steiff are very pleased to receive the extraordinary distinction of the white ear tag with red writing because they are produced in a limited edition. This means that only a number is available and some are available only in certain countries.

Each of these pieces carry the gold plated "Button in Ear" and bring it's new owner a certificate that ensures the authenticity and special status as a Steiff Limited Edition piece.

Mohair - Lustrous, shiny and sleek. This natural material from the wool of the angora goat is the traditional Teddy bear material. In fact, it was used for the first Teddy bear ever created. The fiber is both beautiful and durable, which accounts for the amazing number of vintage Steiff creations that appear today in superb condition. Most teddy bears and animals in Steiff's current Classic range are made of mohair material.
