1952 Singer SM 1500 LDM34 - Lansdowne Models

Singer was the first of the British companies to bring out an entirely new body shape after the war. They introduced the SM 1500 in 1949. It had a strikingly modern body shape, independent front wheel suspension and a four-cylinder engine producing 48 bhp. The model ran from 1949 - 1954 and 22,648 models were made.

From its distinctive front grille to the rear bumper, modern styled gauges to the moulded rear window - the SM 1500 was different. There were many features designed especially for safety and comfort including, two leading shoe brake system, superb driving vision and exceptional rear vision, which is probably why Police forces liked them so much.
